Join our Recycling Team in Consumables Procurement for an exciting opportunity as Senior Recycling Specialist.

Product stewardship is a key part of FLSmidth’ s MissionZero strategy. A key deliverable in product stewardship is recycling of our parts to reduce the carbon footprint for FLSmidth and our customers. We have embarked on an ambitious journey for recycling but need a dedicated person to lead and align all tasks related to recycling.

It is a role with high exposure to senior management and You will be exposed to many internal stakeholders in procurement, sustainability, manufacturing, Service Line, Finance, sales, marketing etc. and work with key external stakeholders.

About The Department

You will join our newly established Consumables Procurement team who is responsible for having the right internal and external supply chain in place to support our growth and profit targets. You will have a great opportunity impacting the future direction for our supply chain strategy for Consumables, and for this role in particular the sustainability of our parts.

Your Responsibilities.

• Understand market requirements for recycling in SAMER and translate into tangible product offerings for customers in order to reduce the carbon footprint

• Build partnerships with suppliers, recycling companies, logistics provider ensuring execution capabilities of our recycling offerings for the customers

• Participate in customer meetings presenting our recycling approach and offerings and ability to engage in discussions and solutions with customers

• Mapping and understanding regional legal and regulatory requirements for recycling

• Utilize ESG understanding to map customer benefits of recycling

• Contribute to strategy development of our recycling offerings on collaboration with the Global Program Manager and other key stakeholders which is often senior executives

Your Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in law, business, finance, environmental disciplines

• Legislation and regulatory requirements in SAMER for recycling

• Strong sustainability knowledge: carbon calculations, science-based targets, circularity, ESG, LCA, etc

• Experience from Mining industry.

• Recycling logistics

• Material knowledge of various steel/iron grades, rubber, polyurethane, ceramics (steel/iron the most important short term and at least the ability to learn fast).

• Sustainability agenda, e.g., carbon calculations, science-based targets, circularity, ESG, LCA

• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish both orally and writing

• You have an entrepreneurial and pragmatic mindset.

• Big drive to deliver and get things done, also in an uncertain environment where all knowledge isn’t necessarily present

• Some travelling will be required for this position.

Location of this position is FLSmidth’ s office in Santiago, Chile, but will be exposed to our other offices in SAMER.
