About the role

The Specialist - SHES provides regional specialist extertise in the relevant department within the regional SHES team and job executes systems, procedures and initiatives, incorporating identified leading practices, in line with Orica global requirements and regional priorities while ensuring legislative compliance; support and guide risk management strategies; and identify and implement improvement strategies.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities Develops, owns and implements the Regional department specific Improvement Plan with support of Group and Site Specialists and Operational Leaders Provides SME support to SHES Specialists and Operational Leaders Monitors and contributes to Investigations and Action Plans for progress against due dates Develops pathways and implementation plans for Orica Group Standards and Procedures and work with the SHES Specialists and Operational Leaders on effective rollout Identifies opportunities for improvement and develop and implement improvement plans to enable structured and consistent Regional implementation and continuous improvement Monitors Regional internal and external requirements (legislative and regulatory), trends and events and develops responses as required, within the area of discipline Engages with industry associations on relevant matters Supports other SHES Specialists with understanding legal requirements and regulatory authority liaison on related matters Collaborates with Global SHES on best practise relevant to the position and its requirements.

BAND F PEOPLE LEADER
* Minimum 7 years experience post qualification.
* Experience leading a team, including building a collaborative approach.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
* Ability to plan, influence & execute.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.

BAND F TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
* Minimum 3 to 6 years experience post qualification.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
* Ability to plan, influence & execute.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.

Role dependent - technical &/or functional business system applications required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, Concur, analytics/visualisation tools, engineering software, etc.)

Span of control:
* Headcount – X Direct, X Indirect

Sphere of influence:
* Department / Functional Sub-specialty SME

Travel requirements:
* Role dependent

Insert tertiary qualification required for role (e.g. Accountant must have a tertiary degree in an Accounting discipline, an Engineer must have a tertiary degree in an Engineering discipline)
OR
Technical qualification / legistlative / SHES certification
